Admission criteria at Our Lady Queen of Heaven RC School
If more children apply than there are places, the 2026 admission rules offer places in this order:
- Baptised Catholic children from practising Catholic families (with a Certificate of Practice).
- Other baptised Catholic children.
- Children enrolled in the catechumenate.
- Children who are members of Eastern Christian (Orthodox) churches.
- Children of families who are members of other Christian denominations.
- Any other children, siblings first, then by straight-line distance.
Our data doesn’t include separate rules for every year, so where a year’s rules are missing we use the nearest year’s.
Read the official rules: Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Primary School: Admissions Policy and Procedures 2027-2028. The school’s own published arrangements always take priority over our summary.
Less predictable
The distance cut-off has moved a lot from year to year (between 434 m and 1,442 m, or 0.27 and 0.90 miles). Treat past cut-offs here with extra caution.
Things to know before you apply for September 2027
- Return the school's supplementary information form, and the Certificate of Practice if applying as a practising Catholic, to the school by the closing date.
- Within each category, siblings come first.
- In the two Catholic categories only, children living in the parishes of Our Lady and St Peter, Christ the King or St Gregory's come next.
- Children with an EHC plan naming the school are admitted first.

Questions about Our Lady Queen of Heaven RC School
How far away do you need to live to get into Our Lady Queen of Heaven RC School?
In the two years with a distance cut-off (2023 and 2024), it ranged from 434 m (0.27 miles) (2024) to 1,442 m (0.90 miles) (2023). In 2022, everyone who applied was offered a place here or at a school they ranked higher. In 2025 and 2026, places ran out before the distance criterion was reached, so living nearby wasn’t enough on its own. Cut-offs move each year with the number of applicants and siblings, so treat these as a guide to past years, not a promise.
Do siblings get priority at Our Lady Queen of Heaven RC School?
Yes, within one of its priority groups. Under the 2026 admission rules, faith criterion 5 is “Children of families who are members of other Christian denominations, with siblings at the school”. Has everyone who applied to Our Lady Queen of Heaven RC School been offered a place in past years?
In 2022, yes: everyone who applied to Our Lady Queen of Heaven RC School was offered a place here or at a school they ranked higher. In 2023 to 2026, places ran out, so not everyone was offered a place.
How many applications does Our Lady Queen of Heaven RC School get?
